How do I get started?
Follow the steps below and email us or call 714-485-4222 if you need any assistance:
- Create an account by clicking at the top of this page “Book Now”.
- Review and sign our Cancellation Policy & Waiver of Liability.
- View the group class schedule or book a private session with one of our trainers.
- Arrive 10 minutes early to your first class so we can get to know one another before we begin.
How do I redeem my Groupon or Living Social voucher?
- Create an account by clicking at the top of this page “Book Now”.
- CLICK HERE to email us your voucher code.
- You’ll receive an email once your voucher is validated and your classes are imported.
Note: Our new client specials are identical to deal vouchers and they can only be redeemed once for new clients.
Can I drop-in for a class?
You must create an account first by clicking at the top of this page “Book Now”. We do not accept drop-ins for class if you have not done this first. You can drop-in on classes that have vacancies but we always recommend you book your classes in advance.
What should I wear to class?
It is helpful for our instructors if you wear comfortable yet form-fitting exercise clothing. It enables the instructor to visually see that you are performing the exercises with proper alignment and form. Please don’t wear loose or “short” shorts as many of the exercises are done with your legs open and elevated. Participants exercise Pilates/yoga socks. Note: DO NOT wear clothing with zippers or sharp objects attached — this damages the vinyl on our equipment.
What if I’m completely new to Pilates?
Our Pilates group classes are designed for all levels, from beginning to advanced because the Pilates system includes modifications that can both simplify the movements as well as increase the challenge. We want you to have a positive experience so our seasoned trainers are capable of guiding our clients through the class safely. If you have had no previous Pilates experience and would like an introduction before you start our classes, we recommend you take a few private sessions to get yourself familiar with the system. We also offer Introductory fundamental classes to teach you Pilates basics and how to use Pilates equipment.
How quickly will I see results?
Joseph Pilates said “you’ll feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 and have a whole new body in 30 sessions.” Most of our clients have found this to be true and many start seeing results right away. Perhaps more important, our clients feel better which keeps them coming back for more. Pilates helps to relieve chronic back pain, knee and joint pain and results can be felt within one or a few sessions.
What if I’ve suffered an injury?
If you’re working with an injury, under doctor’s supervision, or coming back from a surgery, we do ask that you contact us in advance of signing up for a class so we can connect you with a private trainer for your first few sessions. Although our classes are designed to be accessible for everyone, you must learn what is appropriate for your unique body while staying with the pace of the class.
PAYMENTS, REFUNDS, HOLDS
I have two deal vouchers. Will you honor both?
No. As mentioned on all deal vouchers and our website, new client specials or deal vouchers can only be redeemed once per client. If asked to redeem a second voucher, there are three options:
- We can apply an account credit for you towards a future purchase.
- You can gift the additional deal voucher to a friend for their use.
- You can ask the deal site for a refund
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept VISA, American Express, Mastercard and Discover.
What if I use more than my Auto-Renew 4, 8 or 12 monthly plan allows for in a given month?
You can purchase an auto-renew add on class at $14.00 per class. This is only available to those already on the auto-renew plan.
Can I put my classes on hold? I’m going to be away for a bit.
Yes, Auto-Renew plans can be placed on hold for a full month for a $15 fee. If you wish to put your Auto-Renew on hold please email us and request the month and duration of your hold (full months only).
Do you sell gift cards?
We certainly do. To purchase a gift card please, sign into your Mindbody account and go to the purchase tab then click gift cards. If you have no account you may also purchase a gift card through email or by calling us directly at 714-485-4222.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a 12-hour notice in advance before cancellation of group classes and a 24-hour notice made directly to your trainer for private sessions. In the event of a late cancellation or no-show, a group class or private session is forfeited and deducted from your current package.
What if I’m late?
In short: Don’t go to that class — go to the one after it.
Classes start on the dot (7pm classes start at 7pm). This means you must arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins. If you arrive late, you’ll disrupt the class and also miss the footwork portion of your Pilates class. If you arrive later than 6 minutes after a class begins the instructor will turn you away as a safety measure. It is unsafe and in poor conduct for an instructor to add a client 7 minutes after a class starts so we don’t do it.
What if my cell phone rings?
Cell phones must be turned off during class and if they are not, answering any calls must be done outside.
What if I’m pregnant?
We require a doctor’s note in addition to our standard digital waiver. Please attach a photo of the note to an email sent to primapilatesAH@gmail.com before attending class. Pilates is the best exercise to do both prenatal and postnatal and it is extremely important that one exercises both during and after pregnancy. As a rule of thumb, it’s typically safe to do Pilates during the first trimester. However, once into the second or third trimester, modifications will be necessary to accommodate your growing belly. All our instructors are trained in pregnancy modifications.
What do the class levels mean?
“Versions” of our classes. “Fundamentals” is an introduction to Pilates. “Level 1” is our beginner class. “Level 2” is our intermediate class and “Level 3” is our advanced class.
What does “Reformer” mean?
The “Reformer” is the most versatile keystone piece of Pilates apparatus equipment and a majority of the class will utilize this piece of equipment. However, the class makes use other apparatus as well including the BOSU, Barre, fitness ball, Pilates ring, hand weights, springboard and mats.
How do I know what level I am, I have no clue!
The best indicator for when you “graduate” a class level is when your abs and glutes are not as sore as they used to be in the same class. Can you hold your “Plank” for the entire time and still have some more to give? Core strength, flexibility and injuries all have an impact on what level you’re ready for. Start with the easiest class you know you can handle and listen to your body as it grows stronger. Speak with your teacher as they will be able to see your progression and guide you to what level is appropriate for you.
